About the Photographer Greg Lewandowski

Sharon and I have lived in New Mexico for over a decade. Seven years ago we built an off the grid adobe home in the northern area of New Mexico. Three years ago I ventured for the first time into the wilderness of northern New Mexico.

I not only found a place that touched me deeply but also silenced me with its beauty and majesty. As my love for the wilderness grew a strong passion for photography emerged.

Since then I have taken numerous photo lessons and graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, also I am an active participant of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.. I went out and purchased appropriate equipment for wilderness excursions and learned about wilderness survival. I find that if I don’t hike or backpack at least monthly I feel as though there is something missing from my life.

The wilderness is a different kind of place. It not only demands respect but preparation and awareness. I always take topo maps, compass, GPS, and an emergency signal device called The Spot. I also carry 12 pounds of camera equipment.

We live in Medanales, New Mexico and I work full time in the medical profession. I shoot with a Canon full frame digital SLR and carry various lenses and filters along with a tripod whenever I hike. I usually go alone or with my dog and trusty companion Luna.

The majority of slide shows are of northern New Mexico but occasionally I venture to Colorado or the four corners region.
